Dubai: Industry experts and a Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) spokesperson told Gulf News, that misusing a VPN (Virtual Private Network ) is a crime in the United Arab Emirates but using a VPN by an individual in the United Arab Emirates is legal.
Social Media rumors make VPNs come into the spotlight this week. According to rumors, online users could pay hefty fines and land in jail if they are caught using third-party or false addresses in Dubai and other Emirates.
